Oak Creek Band's 4th work and first Vinyl, this is a 12" EP that entitled "Glorietta." The EP is made up of two distinct sides; The RED Side and The BLUE Side.

The RED Side features 3 Rock n' Roll songs played by the 9 piece Oak Creek band including keys, percussion and a three piece horn section in addition to the core band. Inspired by the production of Bob Marley's "Catch a Fire," the original tracks were recorded in a one day session at The Sanctuary in Nashville, TN where the band also performed and recorded later again that night with a live audience. The original sessions were taken to the Watters house where over dubs were recorded in the downstairs recording studio, the "Zen Den."

The BLUE Side features three acoustic duets sung by the Watters. It's a throwback to the days before the band was officially formed and Daniel and Jenna where singing Simon and Garfunkel in coffee shops. Recorded downstairs in the "Zen Den," the whole recording process was done entirely by Oak Creek.

Carry On 02:49
Work time, the city steams The 99 roll up their sleeves Free range, but they took our wings Milk us dry until we bleed Loopholes, behind the scenes Things we will never see The clock works when money speaks We’re just trying to get a piece and carry on Egos and enemies Mixed up priorities Need a scratch to get an itch How much money will you rich? Cuz our minds have been erased Citizens have been replaced Just consumers now, not a face Just trying to get a piece and carry on!
3.
Tomorrow 03:33
Does tomorrow have a name Or is it just another day Well it wont be long before it comes But we put it off and wait Been standing round for way too long This could be your final day So don’t let it slip away Can you measure what it weighs All the things your mind creates? You can make a case for what is right and what it wrong Who can say what’s real or fake Been standing round for way too long This could be your final day So don’t let it slip away This could be your final day So don’t let it slip away Well it wont be long before it comes But we put it off and wait Been standing round for way too long This could be your final day So don’t let it slip away

Full Moon 02:27
Hold me like you did last night Drown our sorrows in cheap red wine Years of fighting to clear the slate Dawn will bring us a brand new day And we’ll lay the seeds together Under the full moon in May Take my hand and squeeze it tight Hit reset love and turn out the light What we are is what we make Find our peace or succumb to our fate So lets lay the seeds together Under the full moon in May You’re my mirror love You’re my truth We could scream oh, but what’s the use? Face the music Find some grace Dawn will bring us a brand new day And we’ll lay the seeds together we’ll lay the seeds together we’ll lay the seeds together Under the full moon in May

Time 03:33
Days go by, We’re busy all the while Over and over and over, we fall apart Eyes that cry Can’t see the changing tides Over and over the waves wash away the time Chorus The world keeps turning circles still the same And all is always bound to change Life flies by Through memories and miles Come and we go, fast and slow In and out on our own Winds they rise A storm engulfs the night Weathered and worn from Another day gone awry
6.
I feel your pain Even though I’m a thousand miles and half the country away We share a brain And I missed you moment I took my first step on this plane Chorus: Born on the same day Soul and star mates Where do we go when death up and takes us away This bed is cold Its hard to sleep when You know your other half isn’t whole Lose Control When I can’t feel your touch and I already want to come home Chorus: Born on the same day Soul and star mates Where do we go when death up and takes us Born on the same day Soul and star mates Where do we go when death up and takes us away Bridge: We make it hard Every moment together compounds when we are finally apart It seems so far But there’s not much space to find between the soul and the stars Chorus: X4

about

Oak Creek Nashville, Tennessee

Originally from Arizona but in Denver since 2009, The Oak Creek Band may be releasing its “debut” but it’s hardly a new project. The band compares themselves to ’70s soft rock bands, but truth be told, they’re more modern than they think. Simultaneously indie and folky, with poppy choruses, the band nails a very fun album, even in its most tear-provoking elements
